Parent/Teacher conference
I had a nice long talk with Andy/Andrew's teacher last night. She was very nice and she told me that Andrew is such a good boy. She showed me his work, that even though he is only in 2nd grade he has the vocabulary and spelling skills of a 5th grader and is one of the best in the class. She also said that he is an excellent artist and that he talks about me. The teache knew that my fiancee is from the Philippines and that we got a new dog.. or that Andrew has a new dog.
We picked up the boys and had a nice dinner. Alex wasn't feeling too well, it looks like he is getting over a cold.
The boys also looked noticeably taller and bigger.. as if the clothes that they have at my house just aren't going to fit at all anymore. They really do get big fast. I asked Andy if he was getting too big for hugs and he said.. that he will never be too big for hugs.
It's raining in Phoenix! I know... big deal right? Well, last year it rained a total... a TOTAL of 2 inches... all year long.. so it's nice to hear the rain drizzling down all night and to come to work under a blanket of clouds.
One of the joys of rain is that we all get a bit giddy here as the wet stuff falls from the sky. People aren't the greatest drivers and there will be a bunch of fender benders. The best part is the running washes.. the dry rivers that all of a sudden fill up with running water. People are surprised by the speed of the water and the depth and more than one will be stuck later today.
