A day off
Yesterday, I took the day off. I sort of wanted to get into work to gloat.. to say "I told you so" but I really didn't have anybody to say it to. I have been supporting the Tampa Bay Bucs all year, but it's easy to say that now that the game is over. I did do my little prediction over there in the corner.. and I was close.. I predicted 31-17 bucs.. but it was even bigger.
This weekend.. my fiancée and I went to petsmart... I wanted to get another fish.. a cleaning fish. You know, the kind that go around and suck on the walls of the tank. On the way in this cute little dog walked by and I said..."That is the kind of dog I would like.." So after we picked out the fish, we went over to look at the adoption center, which is usually full of cats. There was that little dog.. behind the cages, just sitting there. We asked if we could come in and say hello and they told us that she was very shy, but that it was ok. She is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd mix... she is black and white and just so cute... I really fell in love with this little dog. She seems to have been abandoned or abused, because she is a little afraid. I told the lady that was in charge that I needed to think about it. She gave us until 3pm, but she said that she really liked us and that we would be perfect for her. I gave it some thought.. talked to my fiancée about the commitment of having a dog. You all know about Max and how I couldn't keep him because I wasn't' home enough. Well, that was because I was always out with my fiancée or at the gym or at work. Things have changed. We are home most of the time now and when I go to the gym, my fiancée is home. So, we went back and got her. She is the sweetest little dog, she is very careful... she is afraid of getting in trouble, and she is scared to death of loud sounds.
I took the day off yesterday. My fiancée was not feeling well. We think it was allergies.. not to the dog, because they started on Friday.. and I wanted the day off also. I took the new dog for a walk and we bonded a little bit more. It is obvious that she is very afraid of men, she will follow my fiancée around and at first when I came into the room she would look up.. put her tail between her legs and start walking outside again.
This morning, when we left, she seemed as if she was used to having us around already, but she will be fine. She was living at the shelter for awhile, used to living in a 4 by 9 foot cage and she is adjusting to having a lot more space. I gave her a little treat this morning and said goodbye.
but.. I need your help
I don't have a name for her. So, any suggestions would be appreciated.
