Karma?

The Bishop of Phoenix was arrested last night for a fatal hit and run. This was the Bishop that confirmed me in the Catholic church and the same Bishop that recently said he did nothing wrong when he moved priests from one parish to the next when there were complaints of sexual misconduct. He plea bargained out of going to jail and now this.

On Saturday night I watched the news and heard of this fatal hit and run. Apparently this guy was jaywalking and he got slammed into by a car, and was thrown into another car and then under a bus.

Nobody stopped, but someone got a few license plates. The Bishop says that he thought he hit a dog or that a rock was thrown at him... Well.. witnesses say that the windshield is bashed in.. in the shape of a head and shoulders. The window didn't crack.. it broke.. and glass was on the dashboard and passenger's seat.

I think that if anything like that happened to me.. I would have stopped.. even if I thought it was a dog or a cat or a rock.. I would have pulled over.

But... maybe the Bishop watched the stories about the case of the guy in Tempe that plowed into a student and killed him. The guy was drunk, so he didn't stop.. he ran home and was picked up the next day for fleeing the crime. Of course, he wasn't drunk anymore.

It took Bishop O'Brien 2 days to turn himself in.. even when he was told that the police were investigating him on Sunday.

What a world...
