day after
The day after
I stayed up late and woke up early and like 55,443,150 of my fellow
Americans (the most to ever vote against and incumbent president)
I am dissapointed.
Today, I visited a couple of my hotels.. at one of them, someone came up to me and whispered "I voted for John Kerry" he said that he whispered because "we are in Oklahoma..." He then told me that one of his friends was told by the pastor of his church that John Kerry was Satan and that George Bush was sent from God to save our Country. How sad is that.. but oh so true.. the marriage of church and state are now in their newlywed stage.
On my way home, I forced myself to listen to Rush Limbaugh and to Sean Hannity and the local right wing radio guy. I was expecting glee and gloating, but there seemed to be a sense of confusion.. What to they talk about now? They won.. they can't talk about Kerry anymore.. or Clinton for that matter.. I guess they'll have to talk about what the Republicans are going to do for the Country, other than wage war on other countries... can you hear the silence? There won't be talk about Health Care coverage for all anymore, nor will there be talk about education, or jobs, no.. it will be back to the terror campaign.. terrorize those countries outside of the U.S. and terrorize the citizens of the U.S. to do what the President says.
Bush now has absolute power, the power to make the laws and with appointments to the supreme court, the power to interpret the law.. he has the power to wage war and to make you feel unpatriotic if you disagree with him.
It would be nice if Bush would try to unite the country, but that is not in the best interest of the republicans.. rather, he will pull his side further to the right... and label the rest of America liberals.
I am proud that more than 55 million people voted against this president.. that nearly 50% of the voters are on my side.
Unfortunately, it's the losing side... for now.
Let's see what you can do with 4 years George Bush... no excuses, nothing to hold you back..
I have a feeling that republicans are secretly nervous...
Now what????
now what?
