More politics...

Bekah has a good point, it would be nice to have a completely unbiased talk show that explores both sides of any debate. It is hard to find. Today, I listened to NPR and to Rush Limbaugh and to the local, very conservative talk show radio station as I was doing my 4 hours of driving, to and from my appointment.

Here is what I came away with... Arnold Schwarzenegger[check out that website it is something] believes that his Republican America is one in which people must take responsibility for themselves. If they are out of work, then they need to retrain themselves and work harder to get what they want. I understand how he believes this.. he worked hard.. became a bodybuilder, got in a independent film about bodybuilders and then became Conan and the Terminator and well.. you know.. he became filthy rich. Why? Well, Arnold wants you to believe that it was because of hard work and that... Anybody can do the same thing. Republicans believe that we shouldn't worry about jobs being exported.. hey.. they are crappy jobs anyway.. just retrain yourself, to find an even better job.

Well, don't we have the best education system in the world here? I mean, aren't very well educated people already out of work?

Ok, here is where I think that it is the biggest bunch of hypocracy bullshit. If you live in the United States of America, Arnold and George W. and Dick Cheney believe that you have the opportunity now go out and do it for yourself.. isn't that what they are saying? But.. then on the other hand and in almost the same sentance, they try to tell us that the real reason that we are sending troops to die in Iraq and spending hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars in Iraq is to HELP THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ... really... I mean REALLY!!! what compassion, and what nerve to say.. to hell with you people in the United States, if you don't have a job or health care or social security or a way to retire.. this is the United States, do it yourself.. George W. is too busy taking care of the people of Iraq, to guarentee their freedom to be unemployed too.

I can't believe that people buy that crap... that the Republicans truly believe that we are fighting for democracy in Iraq.. first it was WMDs then it was Saddam and now it is Democracy?????

Today, I did hear one very nervous woman on National Public Radio, she called in.. sobbing.. and it was very difficult to get her words out. She wanted to tell the Senator that was praising Zell Miller's speach that her son is in Iraq and that he calls her when he can and the he is afraid of dying.. that everyone in his platoon is going to vote for John Kerry. Why? She said that the American people are being lied to... that her son believes that the only reason we are in Iraq is for Oil.. she could hardly speak.

That phone call gave me hope. Just wait until the votes come in from Iraq, I wish someone would poll those soldiers over there right now. A representitive poll of the real soldiers. It would be interesting wouldn't it? Would you support the soldiers if the majority of them thought that thier Commander in Chief has lied to them? Would you suppor them if they voted for John Kerry?

The GOP would like you to believe that if you disagree with them.. then you must agree with terrorists.. that is how they portray it.. while they don't talk about the real issues that face each of us every day.

I have tremendous respect for John McCain and I know I have said it before.. last night on David Letterman he responded to questions about the speech that he gave.. he said "I was given a speech to read and I did not know that Michael Moore was in the audience" He made a few jokes and he said that he had not seen the movie. He also commented on the Swift Boat ads and that he believes that they are terrible. He said that he has worked with John Kerry for years to go back to Vietnam and to find the POWs and MIA soldiers and that he believes that John Kerry is a Patriot and that if he is elected that he would also be a fine commander in chief. John McCain was cheered by the Republicans in the audience as well as the Democrats.. and he said.. "look, I am a uniter not a divider"

too bad he didn't beat George W. Bush 4 years ago.

George W. Bush will do his best tonight.. to look like one of you... to make you like him more.. he isn't going to yell, he will show passion and he will speak slowly and clearly in small words so everyone can understand. He wants you to remember 9/11 and be afraid in your homes again.. he wants you to believe that the single most important thing that is going to impact your lives is terrorism. You know, personally I worry more about drunk drivers.. I worry that there are people that can't afford health care and that George W. wants to make the health care system more competitive.. to give you more options.. you know.. like when you travel.. the rich stay at Ritz Carlton and others stay at Motel 6.. I don't want to have to make those kind of choices with my health care... here we are the richest country in the world and there are people that can't afford to get the medicine that they need..

but... we are giving the people of Iraq democracy.. at tremendous cost. I wonder how George W. can sleep at night.
