It was a nice weekend. Hectic at times....
Friday night I picked up the boys. My fiancée was with me and it was nice to spend Valentines night with everyone. Alex wanted to go to Petsmart to get Molly a valentines day present and on the way he said that we should get a few things for my fiancée... you know.. I have to find a better way to say that.. Alex said that maybe I should just say.. A1 and A2 for Alex and Andy and M1 and M2 for my fiancée and Molly... so.. my fiancée's first name starts with an M. Well, Alex is a romantic so we stopped at Home Depot and picked out some nice flowers.. all yellow. You can see some of them in my fotolog. Then we stopped and got Chinese food and one more stop for some chocolate cake. I don't like chocolate cake, but it wasn't for me.. M loves it. So, it was a nice Valentines night.
On Saturday, we celebrated Alex's birthday.. even if it was very late. Kids came from the neighborhood and the cousins.. so there were 8 kids running around.. sitting in the tent in the backyard... it was a blast. The boys went up to my sister's house after the party and I stayed back to clean up. Molly was afraid to come in the house after all the kids were there. I also had a ton of homework to do for my class this weekend.. the last week of the class. Sl
On Sunday, Alex and I went out while Andy and my fiancée stayed around the house. Alex bought a sleeping bag and a lantern for his tent and I promised that we would spend a night camping out, but not Saturday because it was still damp and raining a bit. Alex and I took Molly for a long walk in the afternoon after everyone left. We walked to this big hill of dirt that Alex named the flying cliffs of Mesa...one of the gifts I got him as a balsa wood plane that we put together and took on a few test flights. Then Alex, Molly and I went down to where I found this old overturned car in a desert wash. It was full of holes as the car was once used for target practice.. probably 20 years earlier when this was truly an out of the way part of the world. It was a nice long walk and when we got home, we relaxed for a bit, but then Alex and I went out again to do a little shopping for dinner. I made Barbecued ribs, chicken and steak with corn on the cob, salad and french fries... a campout dinner. It was really good and then The boys and I made some smores outside in the chiminea. You can see Andy doing some experiments.. with his stick. There were some sticky hands, so we washed up and then the boys and I went to sleep in the tent. Andy decided to go inside after a little bit but Alex and I stayed out there all night. It was probably about 55 degrees and we had nice warm sleeping bags. I was very comfortable.
Yesterday, my sister, and her 2 children and a friend and the boys and I went to see Daredevil. I liked it.. it was ok. I think they tried to cram too much story into a movie about a comic book, but that is what happens in the comic books right? It's a lot more violent than Spiderman.. lot's of people die in this movie.. and there is more blood. I just didn't buy one part of the whole story. So... where does Daredevil get his money? Oh well.. it's a comic book... Andy loved it and Alex liked it too.
We came home and spent the rest of the day there. Andy's cousin came over and they played in the backyard. Later, we all went for a walk together with Molly before I took them back to their Mom's.
It was a nice weekend..
There are a few pictures in the Fotolog
